23 Nov Working for a Cause
On Thursday, 19th November Villa Maria College held a “Service Work Day”. Junior students (Years 7 to 10) found all kinds of work to do around the home or for others such as friends, relatives or workplaces.
All proceeds were gifted to Caritas, the Social Justice arm of the Catholic Church.
Caritas are focussing on the Philippines who have been ravaged with natural disasters over the past two years. The girls raised in excess of $3,000 for this incredibly worthy cause.
Principal Deborah Brosnahan said “It was a fantastic day with Villa girls enthusiastically embracing the Service Day challenge and living out our Mercy values; I was really proud of them.”
