Amy has had outstanding academic success at Villa Maria College with exemplary Level 3 results. During 2015 as a Year 12 student Amy sat two Level Three courses; English and Mathematics and Calculus gaining an Excellence endorsement in both subjects. In 2016, Amy went on to sit Calculus papers at University through the STAR initiative and the University of Canterbury. Amy gained an A+ in both papers. In addition, Amy has also studied Electronics externally at Riccarton High School, where she awarded the class prize for first place. At Villa Maria her results have been no less outstanding; Excellence course endorsements in Religious Studies, Chemistry and Physics. Amy has achieved 100% of her Achievement Standards at an excellence level.
Amy has been an outstanding leader in our College and has a curious and inquiring mind and a genuine desire to acknowledge that learning and achievement is a key goal for every girl is this room regarding of ability or age. She is always smiley and enthusiastic, tenacious and hard working. She has combined the key elements required for academic success, grit and hard work, and an unfailing enthusiasm and good humour and achieves exemplary results. Building on the foundations laid by previous academic captains, Amy has developed a number of initiatives to encourage school wide participation in learning. From the establishment of an academic committee, which has given leadership opportunities to girls from Year Seven to Year Thirteen, she has instigated many academic initiatives including the Spirit of Learning Weekly Awards, academic buddies, spelling bees, and ‘Banta’ maths.
Georgia has exemplary academic results and works at an excellence level across a number of subjects. Her results whilst at Villa Maria have been outstanding. In 2015 Georgia was accelerated academically and sat Level Three English, gaining a Merit endorsement. In 2016 she has gained 100% of her subjects at excellence and gained Excellence Course endorsements in Religious Studies, Accounting, Mathematics with Calculus, Economics and Physical Education.
