FeesThe College fees and levies may be broken down in to five parts:
The Proprietor's Levy, Building Levy, College Levy, Special Character Levy and Catholic Education Office Levy all qualify as a donation for income tax rebate purposes. Only Attendance Dues include GST. Attendance Dues are required to be paid under the terms of the Integration Act and are determined from time to time by the Proprietor and approved by the Minister of Education. Dues go into a Diocesan Common Fund, together with Attendance Dues from other schools in the Diocese and are used to service debt incurred in meeting Integration building costs.
Proprietor's Levy is set by the Proprietor under the terms of the Integration Act (Section 37). It is used for any development of the College above that required by the Integration Agreement, maintenance of non-integrated areas, Special Character and other purposes as may be decided by the Proprietor. This fund is managed on behalf of the Sisters of Mercy by Villa Maria College Christchurch Ltd.
College Levy is set by the Board of Trustees and provides funds for the Library Information Resource Centre, College magazine, prize-giving, hospitality to visiting schools and other such items as may be decided by the Board. Catholic Education Office Levy. This levy is set by the Catholic Education Office to help fund that Office.
